Couvant
Take a seat at our signature French brasserie, Couvant, housed in the former Peychaud Cocktail Bitters factory. Here, contemporary takes on classic French plates (like egg and avocado tartines for breakfast and magret de canard with braised lentils in the evening) play on the roots of New Orleans cuisine.
Nestled into a saddle brown banquette or centered in the historic courtyard, enjoy chef-driven entrees and a bottle of wine – or maybe two.
Taking cues from the building’s history, Couvant gives a nod to the past, while inviting modern touches throughout. Warm, comforting colors mix with crisp whites and subtle hidden details. Artworks that were once lost have now been found and outfit the space, inspiring thought and conversation. And at the 300-square-foot quartz-topped oak bar at the center of the restaurant, which overlooks Magazine Street, savor decidedly French cocktails, like the Absinthe Frappe Francaise with white vermouth, lemon and mint.
The result: a setting that evokes Paris in a distinctly Crescent City way, and that encourages all to keep the good times flowing.
